Writers Strike Contract Is Official!

Although we reported back on February 12, 2008 that the writer’s strike had been suspended in hopes of finally reaching a new contract, we are now happy to report it is official! On February 26, 2008, 93.6% of the 4,060 votes cast in Los Angeles and New York by the WGA, West and the WGA, East gave their final ‘okay’ to the new contract, which dates from February 13, 2008 to May 1, 2011. Recently our writers delivered you a segment titled Bad boys vs. Good boys on Soaps. Soapland vs. Reality! Since we had no problem ranting and raving about the guys who make daytime drama a little nicer – and a little more dangerous – it’s only fair that we now shine the spotlight on those ladies who do their part to either corrupt those around them or who try to bring peace throughout the storylines in question!

So get ready to smile while Writers talk about the niceties displayed by some of soap’s leading ladies but don’t feel bad if your knuckles start to turn white as we rehash some of the darker female characters – and the crimes they’ve gotten away with!

It's OVER!!!! was first to report that on Tuesday, members of the Writers Guilds East and West voted by a 92.5% margin to lift the restraining order that was invoked on November 5th. Guess what this means? The strike is over! Read the full scoop at!

Solidifying her status as a daytime icon by playing Felicia Gallant on "Another World" for 17 years, Linda Dano has remained a strong presence in the soap world long after the show ended its run. Aside from the beloved classic, Ms. Dano enjoyed a crossover role as Rae Cummings on all three ABC soaps, completed a short stint as Lena Kendall on Guiding Light and has contributed to other soap related outlets. Writers Guild Announces Daytime Winners!

We are happy to announced that The Young and the Restless has won this year's Writers Guild Award in the Daytime Serial category! wants to send the show, its crew and cast a much deserved congratulations! The Young and The Restless, along with all the other nominees, have always been winners in our eyes!

Writer's Strike Update!

Although there are reports all over the net claiming that the Writer's Strike is over, has just received confirmation from a WGA East Rep stating... "No, it is not over." It has been said that the WGA and the AMPTP have made some progress throughout their recent bargainings. However, negotiations are still continuing with no firm deals reached. Joe Gallison Recalls His Time on Soaps

With high profile roles on Another World, Days of Our Lives and One Life to Live, Joe Gallison spent 27 years acting in soaps. Now enjoying life outside of "the business" in North Carolina, Joe works mainly in theatre, but still takes the occasional television and movie role. I recently caught up with Mr. Gallison and found out what he's been up to since we last saw him in Salem, where he played opposite Gloria Loring (ex-Liz Chandler) as Dr. Neil Curtis, who was his alter ego from 1974-1991. General Hospital Vet Shell Kepler Passed Away...

It is with heavy heart that shares the sad news of the passing of Shell Kepler (Nurse Amy Vining). According to the General Hospital Fan Club, Ms. Kepler died of renal failure shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Portland, Oregon, on February 1. She was 49 years young and had been living in Portland for years, working as a charity fund raiser. Visit the General Hospital News Room at to read the full story.
